Small Company Controller - Accounting + Strategy - Hybrid Position in Omaha - HEMPHILL EXCLUSIVE

Hemphill is partnering with blue collar, profitable, and steadily growing business that has been a leader in their industry for nearly 40+ years to help them identify an experienced, willing, and collaborative team player who will take ownership for all aspects of monthly and daily financial accounting and reporting for this small business.

This is an excellent opportunity to work side by side with a business owner who is smart, strategic, and realistic. He has a strong accounting acumen and genuinely values accounting and reporting. You'll enjoy a casual work environment where you can dress comfortably and be surrounded by a warm, authentic team that enjoys working closely together every day.

We are looking for someone who thrives when rolling up their sleeves, takes pride in detail-oriented work, and enjoys being closely involved in every aspect of the business from an accounting and finance standpoint.

  • Full-cycle accounting, including daily transactions, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Take ownership for monthly bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable (cash application), and client billing on a monthly basis
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements - this company recently implemented NetSuite and is eager to streamline processes, reduce manual work (which will make your life easier), and improve reporting to support better decision-making with real time and actionable financial data.
