Abrams Realty is looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our busy Property Management department. This full-time role offers steady, year-round work servicing our growing portfolio of residential rental homes throughout Hampton Roads - including Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, and surrounding areas.

As part of our in-house maintenance team, you'll play a vital role in keeping our rental homes in top condition for both tenants and property owners. We're looking for someone dependable, professional, and ready to grow with us

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work orders efficiently and accurately
  • Handle turnover and rent-ready maintenance to ensure homes meet move-in standards
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with tenants, owners, and office staff
  • Diagnose and complete repairs such as:
  • General handyman tasks
  • Painting (interior & exterior)
  • Basic plumbing and electrical
  • Minor carpentry
  • Light appliance repairs
  • Other building maintenance duties as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance, handyman, or construction roles
  • Strong knowledge of general home repair and property maintenance
  • Clean background and clean driving record (non-negotiable)
  • Must have basic tools (company vehicle provided during work hours and for on-call rotation)
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for job tracking and communication
  • Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
