About the Role

We are seeking a
Senior Data Engineer
to design and build robust, scalable data foundations and end-to-end solutions that unlock business value through data-driven insights. In this strategic role, you'll help shape and embed a data-driven culture across both IT and business functions, supporting global energy and trading operations.

As a technical leader and mentor, you will play a key part in converting business vision and data strategy into effective, modern data solutions—leveraging the latest cloud and analytics technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced data solutions that enable business transformation and value creation.
  • Act as a
    subject matter expert
    in data engineering, guiding both junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive the rollout of data foundation initiatives to support core business programs.
  • Manage change, incidents, and problem resolution related to data systems.
  • Present technical findings, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Lead improvements in implementation efficiency, scalability, and delivery speed.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and community-building initiatives (e.g., Centers of Excellence, Communities of Practice).

  • Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL DB, Synapse, Stream Analytics
  • Glue, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift
  • GITHUB, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, PyTest
  • Data Manipulation and Processing:
    Proficient

Desirable Skills

  • Experience managing projects or leading agile/scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of business planning systems (e.g., BPC).
  • Exposure to external technical ecosystems and open-source tools.
  • Experience documenting technical solutions (MKDocs).

Current Focus

You will contribute to a major
data modernization initiative
in the crude trading and supply domain—transforming global data architecture on
Azure Cloud
. The goal is to create standardized, high-quality, global data views to enable strategic business decisions across regions.
