Director of Social Work

Location: The Pearl

Reports To: Administrator / Executive Director

Position Summary

The Director of Social Work at The Pearl is responsible for overseeing all social services operations, ensuring residents receive comprehensive psychosocial support while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role provides leadership to the social services department, collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team, and supports residents and families through admissions, transitions, and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all social work services for residents in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise social work staff
  • Coordinate admissions, care planning, discharge planning, and transitions of care
  • Provide support and counseling to residents and families regarding psychosocial, emotional, and adjustment needs
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state regulations, and facility policies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care plan conferences
  • Act as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and community resources
  • Address resident and family concerns and assist with grievance resolution
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and reports
  • Support facility initiatives related to quality improvement and resident satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW required)
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure (as applicable)
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
