Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service while managing the front desk operations in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, scheduling, and administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups using EHR systems such as ,NextGEN/TSI,Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
- Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Verify insurance information and assist with medical billing processes, including CPT and ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10).
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process medical collections and manage patient inquiries regarding billing or insurance issues.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and coordinate with healthcare providers as necessary.
- Utilize Microsoft Office for clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and maintaining office organization.
- Provide administrative support to the medical office, ensuring efficient operation of front desk activities.
- Foster a collaborative environment with clinic staff to enhance patient service delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical or specialty office is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as NextGEN/TSI, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, health information management, and insurance verification processes.
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in typing (10 key typing) and using Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
