Full Time 75 Hours Biweekly Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Saint Joseph's Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Administrative Director of Nursing Operations & Med-Surgical Services to join our Nursing Administration team. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this leader will play a key role in shaping nursing practice, advancing patient care, and supporting operational excellence across the organization.

Position Overview

The Administrative Director of Nursing Operations is responsible for assisting the CNO in developing systems, processes, and standards that ensure high-quality patient care, adherence to budgets, and consistent use of evidence-based practice. This role provides leadership and oversight for the Medical-Surgical Units and Nursing Supervisors, ensuring 24/7 operational supervision and support.

As a member of our leadership team, the Director serves as a professional role model, fostering a positive culture that values individual strengths, teamwork, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative leadership and operational oversight for Med-Surgical Units and Nursing Supervisors.
  • Partner with the CNO to establish efficient workflows, cost-effective operations, and evidence-based clinical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and quality/safety initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote professional growth and high performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment aligned with organizational values.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance patient care quality, satisfaction, and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of hospital management experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage clinical teams
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
