We are seeking a Process Engineering Supervisor to provide leadership and technical expertise within a chemical processing environment. This role oversees a team of process engineers, drives process optimization, ensures product quality, and supports safety and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering knowledge with proven leadership skills to deliver operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direct supervision for the Process Engineering team
  • Manage the Process Engineering Co-Op Program and develop future engineering talent
  • Lead research and studies to develop new or improved process unit operations
  • Provide technical input and leadership in the capital budget planning process
  • Monitor product quality by analyzing process data, troubleshooting issues, and adjusting operating specifications
  • Collaborate with Operations to deliver daily status reviews and optimize unit performance
  • Evaluate unit feed rates, energy usage, and operating conditions to identify improvement opportunities
  • Analyze lab data and recommend adjustments to maintain process quality and efficiency
  • Prepare and manage technical documentation for the Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Participate in and/or lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for PSM-covered processes
  • Size and specify process equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, control valves, relief devices, piping, and other key components
  • Drive safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies and regulatory standards
  • Foster strong working relationships with co-workers, contractors, and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering required
  • Minimum 5 years of refinery operations or process engineering experience
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant technical applications
