You'll work closely with processors to ensure each file is complete, accurate, and ready for closing — while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment.

What you'll do:

  • Evaluate and clear stipulations and conditions promptly to maintain file momentum.
  • Analyze complex loan packages to render accurate, defensible credit decisions.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with company, investor, and GSE standards while meeting production targets.
  • Communicate clearly with loan originators and processors to obtain any missing or clarifying documentation.
  • Interpret and apply Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and investor-specific guidelines.
  • Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate as appropriate.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 2 years of conventional loan underwriting experience.
  • Strong credit, risk analysis, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with DU and LP.
  • Experience analyzing self-employment income (Schedule C, K-1, corporate returns).
  • Experience reviewing full appraisals and title reports.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit policy, underwriting guidelines, and property evaluation.
Ability to review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with processors and production staff.
  • Hybrid role with in-office collaboration in Charlotte, NC (approximately 1–2 days per week).

Nice to have:

  • Active CHUMS #, SAR, or VA credit authority.
