Summary: This full-time position provides direct case management services to unaccompanied immigrant children and youth and immigrant child survivors of trafficking across the state of Hawai'i. The social worker will support children and their families meeting their legal, social, and basic needs. Through Pacific Gateway Center's Children's Legal Services Program and Trafficking Victim's Assistance Program, eligible participants may receive free legal and social services. The social worker will collaborate with attorneys, legal staff, government agencies, and others to provide trauma informed care to children. In collaboration with legal staff, the social worker will develop best practice policies and procedures for integrated legal and social services to provide case management services and administer benefits to eligible unaccompanied children and certified foreign victims of human trafficking.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provideassistance for navigating social services that cover housing, food, job/income, health (mental and physical), transportation, family wellness, social adjustment, access to benefits, ESL, and access to legal services, education;
● Performclient consultations, meetings, intake, and assessments;
● Identify, utilize, and assist survivors with resources available at all levels of government, as well as community resources to make appropriate referrals;
● Maintainacaseload and administer benefits to children who are eligible for AspireTVAP services;
● Performbilingual trauma informed intakes, assessments, and follow ups;
● Collaborate with legal service providers to meet the legal needs of children;
● Developindividual service plans related to the needs for each child and family;
● Accessandrespond to urgent safety, health, and mental health needs of children;
● Screenfor past and current human trafficking;
● Refer, link and build the capacity of the child and family to access government and community resources;
● Maintaindetailed and timely documentation of all client interactions;
● Practice cultural humility in serving diverse children and families;
● Administer benefits to eligible foreign victims of human trafficking;
● Maintainconsistent and timely communication with children to meet the goals of the individual service plan;
● Maintainquantitative and qualitative data for Immigration Services to track clients' progress as well as support reporting requirements;
● Establish and build relationships with government and community resources across the state to facilitate referrals, benefits, and program enrollment;
● Outreachtogovernment and community agencies to increase awareness of services available to immigrant child survivors of trafficking;
● Developincollaboration with legal staff policies and procedure to provide trauma informed legal services to immigrant children;
● Developpolicies and procedures for case management best practices;
● Developanddisseminate in collaboration with legal staff policies and procedures on client crisis scenarios;
● Adheretotheorganizational and grant requirements and policies, particularly those related to confidentiality and client privacy;
● SupportImmigration Services team with other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS ANDSKILLS:
● Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred;
● Required: Master's degree in social work (MSW), related Master's degrees in related fields such as psychology or counseling will be acceptable as well;
● 2-years experience in the immigration field working with survivors and victims of trafficking, trauma, abuse, and/or domestic violence to provide trauma-informed care;
● 3-years experience in non-profit environment providing direct services for children at-risk for trafficking/exploitation; experience working with confirmed victims preferred;
● Must be able to pass federal and state background checks;
● Experience working with state and private child welfare agencies and providing in-house services;
● Ability to provide cross- cultural services to individuals with diverse identities;
● Communicateeffectively verbally and in writing;
● Effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
● Maintaindetailed documentation of all client work;
● Ability to connect clients with appropriate resources and follow all documentation requirements for benefits administration;
● Ability to remain calm and develop safety plan in crisis situations;
● Ability to assess situations and collaborate with child, attorney, and sponsors to develop service plan;
● Ability to build positive relationships with outside service providers and collaborate respectfully with other professionals;
● Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making;
● Ability to develop and implement case management procedures for referrals, intakes, service plans, follow up, and documentation;
● Maintainconfidentiality;
● Providetimely follow up services;
● Advancedknowledge of microsoft word and relevant computer programs;
● Valid driver's license with good driving record as traveling is required for this position;
● Work well with minimal supervision.

COMPENSATION/HOURS ● $70,000annually
● Location: Mamalahoa Hwy. Holualoa, HI 96725, 723 C Umi St. Honolulu, HI 96819, 95 Mahalani St. Wailuku, HI 96793 and remote as necessary.
