What You'll Do:

This position will spearhead the OCC's analytics function by partnering with business stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions and empower self-service business intelligence. The individual will manage a team that works closely with both business users and data engineering groups throughout the organization to enable data-driven decisions. This includes facilitating access to historical and near real-time data through exploration and analysis using both on-premises and cloud-based tools and technologies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Lead the OCC Centralized Data Analytics team in delivering business-focused analytics solutions
  • Establish and maintain data analytics standards across the organization
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to define data availability requirements that align with business objectives
  • Partner with the Data Governance Team to ensure analytics solutions utilize high-quality data
  • Oversee validation of data models to confirm information accessibility in the analytics warehouse for analysis and dashboard development purposes
  • Guide the migration from legacy analytics systems to the new Ovation platform, including refactoring complex SQL queries
  • Oversee team collaboration with other Data teams to develop a business-friendly Semantic Data Layer
  • Review and authorize documentation and testing protocols to ensure data accuracy and clarity
  • Enhance business user capabilities by promoting self-service tools and improving data literacy through training materials and resources
  • Identify and implement data and analytics best practices across the team
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in data and analytics methodologies to improve solution maintainability and reliability
  • Develop analysts' capabilities to independently address analytics challenges

  • [Required] Skill in translating technical concepts for varying audiences and converting business requirements into technical deliverables
  • [Required] Proven capability supporting business analysts during high-priority initiatives
  • [Required] Exceptional attention to detail with structured problem-solving approach
  • [Required] Extensive experience with analytics/reporting technologies and database systems
  • [Required] Excellence in presentation and communication, particularly when explaining technical results to non-technical stakeholders
  • [Required] Established team management experience
  • [Required] Knowledge of Capital Market domain
  • [Preferred] Knowledge of Clearing domain

Technical Skills:

  • [Preferred] Understanding of applied statistics and hands-on experience applying these concepts preferred
  • [Required] Knowledge of and experience working with analytics/reporting technology and underlying databases
  • [Required] Strong presentation and communication skills, including ability to clearly explain deliverables/results to non-technical audiences
  • [Required] Advanced mastery of SQL query development and optimization
  • [Required] Experience with Python and/or R
  • [Required] Experience with visualization and analytics reporting tools, such as Tableau| [Preferred] Experience with ETL tools, such as Alteryx, AWS Glue preferred

Education and/or Experience:

  • [Required] bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent professional experience
  • [Preferred] Master's degree
  • [Required] 10+ years of experience as a data analytics engineer, business intelligence analyst, or data scientist
  • [Required] Experience managing team

Certificates or Licenses:

  • [Preferred] BI tool certification

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
  • In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on


- All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range

$179, $264,300.00

Incentive Range

23% to 30%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
