Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee and be directly involved in the daily operations in our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of warehouse management processes. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient logistics, inventory control, and process improvement within the warehouse environment. The Warehouse Lead will work closely with team members to maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and quality.

In this position some of your responsibilities will include directly overseeing, directing, and managing a small warehouse team and supplies while the majority of your time is spent performing all duties of the Warehouse & Fulfillment Clerks. This position requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to constant process improvement

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient workflow and safety.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular audits.
  • Lead a team of warehouse associates, providing training, guidance, and support to enhance performance.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems for order picking, tracking inventory and managing logistics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely distribution of products and materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • As noted, 75% of time spent in direct warehouse functions such as picking, packing, kitting, shipping, doing inventory counts, product inspections, and receiving.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment, with prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management software systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement initiatives.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members at all levels.
  • Minimum 2 years of practical warehouse and fulfillment experience.
  • Minimum 1 year in leading and managing others.
