About the Role
Our government client is seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst to support auditing, monitoring, and safeguarding confidential information across statewide technology systems. This hybrid position is based in Indianapolis, IN, and requires local candidates only.
In this role, you will help evaluate IT risks, monitor systems for security issues, assist with audits, and strengthen the organization's information security posture.
Essential Responsibilities
- Monitor systems for security compliance and confidentiality issues
- Interface with users to understand security needs
- Assist with security audits (e.g., IRS, SSA, OCSE, FBI, SBOA)
- Support remediation of audit findings
- Create and maintain security reports
- Develop security policies and standards
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Recommend safeguards during new technology development
- Ensure secure hardware/software configuration
- Implement procedures for security software tools
- Perform periodic audits of security policies
- Recommend system or process enhancements
- Monitor new security laws and guidelines
- Mentor and train users on security procedures
- Assist in domain structure, authentication, and digital signature management
- Apply and maintain information security standards
- Analyze and apply complex technical logic
- Collaborate with IT teams, administrators, technical support, and end users
- Assess security needs and assist in training
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively with IT technologists, including administrators, technical support, development teams, and end users
- Network administration experience
- Security certification (e.g., CISSP, CRISC)
- Ability to develop and maintain security standards
- Ability to understand and apply complex computer logic
- Degree in information security or technology
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, SOC 2, CIS, Cobit)
- Computer security compliance and auditing experience
- IRS/SSA system security audit experience
- HIPAA compliance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government regulatory audits
- Experience writing SOPs and policies for large organizations
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and remediation
