  • Day - 7am to 3:30pm
  • Overnight - 11pm to 7:30am

General Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety of participants, guests, and property.
  • Assists the serving of meals as appropriate.
  • Address any behavior issues that create disharmony, criminal, or otherwise.
  • Completes written reports and incident logs of daily activities and irregularities.
  • Ensure all logs are completed in their entirety and filed away.
  • Answer the main office phone system.
  • Assess client needs throughout participation in any programs.
  • Must complete live scan/background clearance
  • TB Clearance required
  • Familiarity with homelessness and related issues a plus
  • Work a flexible schedule (weekends and evenings)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful situations
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and ethical standards and judgement

Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)

This position is responsible to work in a "client friendly" environment and is required to be located at a homeless shelter as part of their duties. Local automobile travel is required. There is some responsibility to work in noisy environments where adults are present. PPE Gear is provided by HALCDC and must be worn at all times.

Physical Requirements

Typically spend time sitting, standing, typing, thinking, writing, walking, driving, lifting (max. 50 lbs.), listening, speaking.

Mental Requirements

This position will require the individual to be able to handle any/all of the following: constant distractions, interruptions, uncontrollable changes in priorities / work schedules: be able to process information, think and conceptualize

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Holidays
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

SKILLS: Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. Must be computer literate (Word, Microsoft Excel, Gmail, etc.)Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other employees, clients, vendors, and the public.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma Preferred. Relevant life and/or work experience will be considered in lieu of HS Diploma.

EQUIPMENT USED: Computers (including email), telephone, and fax.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
