Presidential Transportation is expanding our seasonal operations and seeking experienced, safety-focused, and professional Class B CDL drivers to support our winter charter programs, mountain resort shuttles, school snow trips, and peak seasonal events.

Winter driving is a specialized and high-responsibility assignment. Drivers must be confident operating 56 passenger coaches in snow, ice, low visibility, high winds, steep grades, and chain-required conditions. This role directly impacts the safety of our passengers and the reputation of our company as a trusted leader in safe winter transportation.

As a Winter Season CDL Driver, you will provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation throughout the Pacific Northwest during winter weather operations.

What You'll Do

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate 56-passenger motor coaches, mini coaches, and shuttles in winter conditions
  • Safely navigate mountain passes, including Snoqualmie, Stevens, and Crystal
  • Conduct full FMCSA-compliant pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Install and remove tire chains as required by WSDOT
  • Maintain safe speeds, following distances, and winter driving best practices
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding delays, weather issues, and conditions
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, students, and tour groups
  • Assist passengers and chaperones with boarding procedures in icy or snowy conditions
  • Light vehicle cleaning and cabin refresh during standby or breaks
  • Represent the company professionally at all times

Seasonal Operational Duties

  • Follow all winter protocols outlined in the Presidential Winter Driver Guide
  • Keep passengers onboard during chain-up operations
  • Follow all designated chain-up areas, staging zones, and snow-lot procedures
  • Manage time effectively during slow winter traffic conditions
  • Demonstrate judgment and authority to halt operations if conditions become unsafe

Requirements

  • Valid Class B CDL Driver License
  • 25 years of age
  • High School Diploma, GED, or comparable education required
  • Passenger Endorsement
  • Air Brake Endorsement
  • DOT Certified Medical Card
  • +3 years of driving experience
  • DMV Driving Abstract indicating a safe driving record

Qualifications

  • Proficient in English and able to articulate clearly
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Must be personable and customer service oriented
  • Must be able to navigate by GPS
  • Strong geographical awareness with the ability to improvise when needed
  • Knowledge of Seattle and surrounding areas is a plus
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to maintain positive customer relations and climate with other drivers, affiliates, customers, event staff, and supervisors.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and using stairs to enter and exit large vehicles.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/handle cases ranging from 5-50 pounds.
  • All Drivers are subject to a pre-employment and random drug screening

Seasonal Winter Responsibilities (Specialized Expectations)

During the Winter Snow Season, drivers will be responsible for:

Winter Readiness

  • Wearing appropriate winter PPE (hi-vis jacket, insulated boots, gloves, etc.)
  • Bringing required winter equipment (flashlight, scraper, snow brush, hand warmers, etc.)
  • Conducting enhanced winter pre-trips and reporting concerns immediately

Compliance & Safety

  • Following all FMCSA, WSDOT, and chain-up requirements
  • Obeying traction laws and advisory speed limits
  • Reading and understanding all company-issued winter training materials
  • Maintaining full compliance with Presidential Transportation safety standards

Customer Care in Winter Conditions

  • Assisting groups safely in snowy parking lots
  • Ensuring buses remain warm and comfortable
  • Communicating schedule changes due to weather delays
  • Upholding professionalism during long delays or closures
