Job Summary:  The Server Assistant (Backwaiter) plays a crucial role in supporting servers and ensuring a flawless, high-end dining experience. This position requires grace, efficiency, and attention to detail, assisting with table maintenance, service coordination, and guest satisfaction.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Guest Service & Experience
  • Assist servers in delivering attentive, unobtrusive, and polished service.

  • Ensure tables are set, cleared, and reset with precision and efficiency.

  • Anticipate guest needs by offering water, bread, and additional accompaniments.

  • Provide a seamless dining experience, working in sync with servers and kitchen staff.

  • Handle guest requests promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.



Service Coordination & Execution
  • Pre-bus tables discreetly, ensuring a clean and refined dining environment.

  • Support in running food from the kitchen, ensuring proper plate placement and presentation.

  • Assist in maintaining proper course pacing by coordinating with servers and chefs.

  • Polish and prepare glassware, silverware, and tableware to maintain fine dining standards.

  • Ensure all service stations are stocked, organized, and spotless throughout service.



Professionalism & Teamwork
  • Maintain a poised and professional appearance, adhering to fine dining service etiquette.

  • Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

  • Participate in pre-shift meetings to discuss menu changes, VIP guests, and service notes.

  • Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring all service areas are clean and compliant.
 
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in fine dining or an upscale hospitality setting preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest and server needs.
Ability to move gracefully and efficiently in a high-end dining environment.
Familiarity with wine service, food presentation, and luxury dining standards is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and carry multiple plates with finesse.

36 Granada is a unique culinary combination of two great restaurants set to serve our local community and our vibrant visitor base. The property features more hospitality experiences beyond the restaurants. La Petite Kitchen is a chef-driven cooking class studio and private dining room.
