This is a part time position. The hours for this position can be either 9am-3pm 5 days a week or 8am-4:30pm 4 days a week.

Summary

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by ensuring the quality, efficient, timely and cost-effective delivery of printed material throughout the hospital. These materials support all areas of the hospital including patient care and support areas and ensure appropriate and accurate patient care and awareness of Mercy Medical Center communication priorities.

Job Description

  • Job Duties
  • Fields print and copy requests and fulfills requests through printing process and additional finishing work, as needed. Operate printers and additional print shop equipment (folding machine, laminator, cutter, etc.).
  • Assists with some finishing of materials as needed (cut, fold, lamination, etc.)
  • Order supplies and paper as needed.
  • Supports maintenance and repair of print shop equipment, running PMs and additional troubleshooting as needed.
  • Coordinates printing of materials in-house and occasionally through vendor relationships to ensure timely, quality delivery of printed items within budget.
  • Provides print specifications (size, ink, paper, and print quality) and monitors print process including inspection of proofs and consultation.
  • Ensures proper management of corporate identity, including the consistent use of all Mercy logo marks and brand/graphic standards. Supports regular upkeep of design equipment (Macs, printers) to ensure proper functionality.
  • Manages time, workflow and schedule in order to meet strict and sometimes aggressive deadlines.

  • Meets with internal customers to determine scope and specifications of projects.

  • Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of printers and copiers and basic functions of a printing facility.
  • Able to operate copier machines, drill press, electric cutter, folder machine, lamination machine and other bindery/finishing equipment.
  • Must be able to be stand for long periods of time, lift minimum 50 lbs.
  • Understanding of order processing and ability to effectively provide quality customer service.
  • Required: Previous experience in a customer service role
  • Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Professional Experience

  • Experience in a printing environment.

Education

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
