Medical Endocrinology Check-Out Specialist
Location: Near the St. Lucie Medical Center- Port St. Lucie, FL 34952
Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00 with "flex-time" to leave early on Fridays (depending on hours worked).

We are a growing, patient-centered Endocrinology practice committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care. Our team works collaboratively to support patients in managing their endocrine and metabolic health through personalized treatment and education. We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Check-Out Specialist to join our dynamic administrative office team.
Position Summary:
The Endocrinology Check-Out Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring each patient's visit ends on a positive and organized note. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high volume clinical environment. You will be the final point of contact for patients after their visit, responsible for scheduling follow-ups, ensuring proper documentation, and providing an exceptional experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner at check-out. This is very important as you are the last person they communicate with before leaving the office. This greatly effects reviews and outcomes for the practice.
- Review visit summaries and ensure patients understand their next steps.
- Provide and explain laboratory, imaging, and referral orders as directed by the physician.
- Suggest and document supplements or lifestyle recommendations made during the visit.
- Schedule follow-up and future appointments accurately based on physician guidance.
- Collect and process payments for any additional supplement purchases.
- Communicate effectively with the clinical and administrative team to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage incoming phone calls, voicemails, and electronic messages in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records within the EMR system.
- Support front office functions, including scanning, faxing, and record requests.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or higher degree preferred. Experience is taken into consideration in place of any higher education.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)—specifically eClinicalWorks (ECW)—highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy medical office setting.
- Positive, professional attitude and strong teamwork ethic.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient service.
- Previous experience in endocrinology or another medical specialty is a plus.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, billing, or coding is desirable but not required.
