The Third Shift Building Supervisor for Custodial Services at the Orange County Convention Center is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of our premier facility during the overnight hours. This position involves supervising a dedicated team of custodial staff, overseeing their tasks, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the convention center. The Building Supervisor will play a critical role in fostering a positive and welcoming environment for event attendees and staff by ensuring that all areas of the facility are impeccably maintained. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the convention center's reputation for excellence in hospitality. ROLE AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Supervise Custodial Team: Lead and manage a team of custodial staff during the third shift to
ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
2. Cleaning and Maintenance: Monitor and inspect assigned areas to ensure they are cleaned, sanitized,
and well-maintained according to established standards and schedules. Address any issues or deficiencies
promptly.
3. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock
levels are adequate for daily operations. Submit requisitions for supplies as needed.
4. Training and Development: Train, mentor, and provide guidance to custodial staff, including on
safety protocols, cleaning techniques, and customer service standards.
5. Quality Control: Conduct night quality control checks in Smart Inspect to ensure that custodial work
meets or exceeds the convention center's cleanliness and presentation standards. Evaluate your team and
report any compliance or performance concerns with the Account Manager.
6. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and standards, ensuring that all custodial staff adhere
to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
7. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, maintenance activities, and incidents. Report incidents immediately and support with a detailed report.
8. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
9. Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric attitude among custodial staff, promoting a positive and helpful demeanor when interacting with event attendees and staff.
10. Emergency Response: Act as a point of contact during emergencies, assisting with evacuations and other safety procedures as needed.
11. Collaborative Communication: Collaborate with other department heads and management to address facility-related issues and coordinate custodial services for events.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)

• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial services

• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness

• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

• Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management

• Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations is a plus

• Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
