We are expanding our HVAC and ELECTRICAL programs and we are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-focused HVAC/ELECTRICAL Instructor to train and inspire future industry professionals.
HVAC:
Key Responsibilities
- Teach students HVAC fundamentals, including system installation, diagnostics, and repair.
- Deliver classroom and hands-on training in tools, components, refrigerant handling, and safety practices.
- Cover topics such as electrical circuits, HVAC blueprints, schematic wiring diagrams, motors, and heat pumps.
- Prepare students for EPA certification and entry-level employment in the HVAC field.
- Supervise students in both classroom and lab environments.
- Maintain daily attendance records and submit documentation as required.
- Support student engagement and retention by creating a safe, clean, and respectful learning environment.
- Participate in curriculum development and industry alignment in coordination with school leadership.
- Partner with local businesses and unions to support student job placement and career development.
- Stay updated on current HVAC practices and industry code standards (NEC, Illinois).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC or a related trade.
- At least 1 year must be within the past 5 years (or 2 years within the past 10).
- Knowledge of HVAC codes and EPA certification standards required.
- Teaching or training experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration methods, and safety protocols.
- Must be comfortable teaching in both classroom and hands-on settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Illinois Career Technical Education (CTE) credential in HVAC instruction.
Schedule & Compensation
- Must be available for evening and weekend classes.
- Part-time hours: up to 32 hours per week.$35per hour
- Biweekly paper checks (must be picked up at the school office).
- Pay: $35 per hour.
ELECTRICAL:
Key Responsibilities
- Teach students safe, legal, and code-compliant electrical system installation.
- Deliver hands-on instruction in residential and commercial wiring, circuits, controls, motors, and tools.
- Cover essential topics including electrical theory, NEC and Illinois code compliance, safety procedures, and job readiness.
- Supervise students in both classroom and lab settings to ensure a disciplined and effective learning environment.
- Develop and maintain curriculum and lesson plans aligned with industry standards.
- Track and report student attendance daily (incentive pay based on hours attended).
- Submit timely documentation including student progress, hours completed, and certifications earned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training space (including end-of-day cleanup).
- Collaborate with RR Trade School leadership and local businesses on job placement opportunities.
- Stay up to date with changes in industry practices and regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation or related electrical trades.
- At least 1 year of experience must be within the past 5 years (or 2 years within the last 10 years).
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and Illinois Code required.
- Prior teaching or training experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and teach from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Comfortable delivering instruction in both classroom and hands-on environments.
- Must be dependable, organized, and professional.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must be eligible to obtain an Illinois Career & Technical Education (CTE) teaching credential in Electrical.
