Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to deliver consistent, quality service while fostering a positive team environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to verify cleanliness, floor care, and overall presentation.
  • Develop work schedules that optimize staffing levels based on occupancy forecasts and operational needs.
  • Manage inventory levels for cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment; place orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment use.
  • Address guest requests or concerns promptly with professionalism and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as front desk or maintenance to coordinate efforts and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, staff performance, and incident reports.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the housekeeping department.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in housekeeping management within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care procedures, and janitorial best practices.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and custodial processes.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise staff effectively.
  • Familiarity with hospitality standards and guest service excellence.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy supplies, standing for extended periods, and performing detailed inspections.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Good communication skills to interact clearly with team members and guests alike.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to chemical handling and equipment operation is preferred.
