We are seeking a motivated Certified Medical Assistant (MA) who is passionate about patient care and excited to be part of a supportive, innovative, and fast-growing cardiovascular practice.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Administrative Duties

  • Performs basic clerical and office functions.
  • Assembles necessary documents, clinical paperwork, and supplies.
  • Uses computer applications effectively, including EMR (ECW).
  • Schedules, coordinates, and monitors appointments, inpatient/outpatient admissions, testing, and procedures.
  • Maintains medical records, charts, and documentation.
  • Manages inventory and restocking of clinical supplies.

Essential Clinical Duties

  • Accurately documents patient history, chief complaint, vitals, and clinical information in the EMR.
  • Performs intake processes including vital signs, height, weight, and relevant cardiology-based screenings.
  • Conducts EKGs and other basic diagnostic tests.
  • Assists providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Prioritizes (triages) patient needs via phone, electronic messages, and walk-ins based on established protocols.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to urgent or emergent situations.
  • Prepares and maintains exam rooms and procedure spaces.
  • Provides patient education as directed.
  • Follows provider instructions including pharmacy refills, tracking lab results, scheduling outside procedures, and managing phone and fax communications.
  • Reports significant changes in patient condition to the provider promptly.
