About the Position
Are you ready to take on a career-defining challenge where your expertise in scheduling and risk management will directly impact major infrastructure projects? We're looking for a
Senior Scheduler
to join our team—someone who thrives on solving complex scheduling puzzles, mitigating risks before they become roadblocks, and ensuring large-scale programs stay on track. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of project success, leveraging cutting-edge tools like Primavera P6, Monte Carlo analysis, and forensic scheduling techniques to drive efficiency and clarity. If you have a passion for precision, a knack for problem-solving, and the leadership skills to guide stakeholders through the intricacies of project scheduling and risk assessment, we want to hear from you.
This is a full-time, onsite position located in the greater NYC area and is anticipated to last 1+ years.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze owner/project manager and contractor prepared CPM schedules, baseline schedules, and monthly schedule updates to identify critical paths, near critical paths, milestone impacts, phasing shifts and potential trends.
- Perform schedule audits on project schedules to ensure data is "risk ready."
- Analyze schedules for opportunities to reduce schedule critical path duration and recover delays by creating and analyzing what-if schedules.
- Analyze contractor delay claims through the application of forensic scheduling principles for merit, quantity, concurrent delays, excusable versus inexcusable delays, compensable versus non-compensable delays, et cetera.
- Apply Earned Value Management techniques to schedules for purposes of reporting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support change orders and claims by preparing Time Impact Analyses that tie delays to cost and contractual entitlement.
- Continuous analysis of schedules and provision of alternatives and expected outcomes to avoid any schedule delays.
- Experience creating and presenting technical presentations in group settings and meetings.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork, trust, and positive relationships.
- Natural curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- 10+ years' progressive experience in project scheduling for heavy civil rail transit projects, including full CPM baseline development, resource or cost loading, and progress updating.
- Experience scheduling for large programs (e.g., $500M+) utilizing quality and risk-based thinking.
- Experience working on teams for large, complex infrastructure design-build programs.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), resource planning, and cashflow management.
- Experience conducting critical path and variance analyses, preparing Time Impact Analyses, and quantifying schedule risk using Monte Carlo or similar methods.
- Experience creating and presenting technical presentations in group settings and meetings.
- Strong forensic CPM scheduling skills regarding analyzing delay claims, including the use of forensic scheduling software (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Schedule Cracker, Project Analyzer, etc.)
- Experience with cost and schedule Monte Carlo software programs (e.g., Primavera Risk).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera Cloud.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Active professional certifications such as PSP or PMI-SP (AACE or PMI).
- Expert level forensic scheduling skills, including the use of forensic scheduling software (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Schedule Cracker, Oracle Cloud Analytics, and Project Analyzer).
- Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms for building interactive schedule dashboards and KPI visualizations.
- Knowledge of construction when working in proximity to active MTA operations.
- Knowledge of MTA, MTA C&D and NYCT operations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations and industry safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
- Roadway Worker Protection, OSHA, and other necessary training.
