Job Title: Developmental Play Partner
Location: Los Angeles (In Client's Home)
Job Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $28–$45/hour, based on experience & education
About Us
At Forum Care Group, we are committed to delivering person-centered, compassionate care that respects the dignity and independence of every individual. Whether at home, in community settings, or residential facilities, our team of dedicated professionals supports clients of all ages with high-quality care and genuine human connection.
We believe caregiving is not just a job—it's a calling. As a Developmental Play Partner, you'll help support and nurture the growth of children with developmental differences through play, curiosity, and connection. Join us in creating a care experience that's rooted in trust, empathy, and excellence.
Your Role
As a Developmental Play Partner, you'll support children with developmental delays, physical limitations or neurodivergence through purposeful, play-based engagement in the home. You'll use child-led, relationship-based techniques to help promote social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. This is not a clinical therapy position, but a support role that brings joy, regulation, and connection to each session.
What You'll Be Doing
- Engage children in developmentally appropriate, play-based activities
- Follow the child's lead while supporting co-regulation and shared attention
- Encourage communication, creativity, problem-solving, and emotional expression
- Collaborate with parents and developmental specialists (e.g., occupational therapists, speech therapists) to align play with care goals
- Support transitions, routines, and sensory regulation strategies
- Maintain a safe, responsive, and nurturing environment
- Track and share observations with the care team and parents
- Provide consistent, patient, and empathetic support during sessions
Schedule & Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $22–$26, depending on qualifications
- Flexible part-time schedules
- Saturday and afternoon hours available
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children (especially toddlers and preschoolers) in play-based, educational, or caregiving settings
- Familiarity with child development, neurodiversity, or relationship-based approaches (e.g., DIR/Floortime, Montessori, RIE, or similar frameworks)
- Creative, curious, and joyful approach to working with children
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in family homes
- Excellent communication skills with both children and adults
- Ability to observe and respond to a child's individual needs with sensitivity
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit on the floor, crawl, kneel, or move quickly to engage safely in play
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and supporting children during physical play or transitions
- Comfortable working in active, hands-on environments
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 40 per week
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
Work Location: In person
