Public Relations Intern:

The public relations intern will be supporting the public relations managers and public relations strategists. This candidate will possess strong administrative, organizational, and creative skills. This candidate takes initiative and thinks outside of the box but also excels working in a team through efficient collaboration and communication. The right candidate loves publicity and is devoted to championing the music business and entertainment industry through unique storytelling.

  • Set up meetings, conference calls
  • Maintain press reports and track client press coverage - Tour, online, regional print/TV
  • Gather assets for public relations team members
  • Draft pitches to writers in local markets to obtain press coverage for artists on tour
  • Work occasional projects as assigned
  • Format press releases, media alerts, and biographies
  • Support PR agency's social media platforms by creating unique content aligned with the company's priorities
  • Format press requests for concert tickets and photo/video passes
  • Work with public relations team to schedule interviews for features and previews and connect phone interviews to ensure everything goes smoothly
  • Coordinate servicing of advanced music and press materials
  • Maintain/update public relations database and materials – this includes researching new outlets and building out media lists regularly.
  • Maintain/update client biographies and boilerplates regularly.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 prior internships (music or entertainment experience preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills (bilingual in Spanish is a plus)
  • The ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced working environment
  • Proficiency with Office 365, Google Suite and MailChimp
  • Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with employees of our company at all levels including Senior Management
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Flexible – able to adjust to changing priorities, and able to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
