Are you a skilled CVT/RVT/LVT with strong surgery and anesthesia experience looking for a rewarding role where you're valued, supported, and never stuck in a rut? Tired of chaotic ER nights or GP jobs where you don't get to use your surgical skills? Join Sploot Veterinary Care in Denver, CO and discover a better way to do what you love
Who We Are
Sploot Veterinary Care is a new kind of veterinary clinic, blending Surgery, Urgent Care, and General Practice to provide pets with high-quality care when they need it. We were founded by compassionate individuals who wanted to rewrite the rules of vet med — prioritizing our team's well-being as much as our patients'.
Our Denver clinics are tech-forward and innovative (we use tools like CoVET AI Scribe for medical notes and offer laparoscopic surgery as a modern, minimally invasive option). Our culture is all about collaboration, learning, growth, and fun. We're building the future of vet care, and we want you to be a part of it
Why You'll Love Working at Sploot
- Diverse Caseload (Urgent + Primary): Boredom? Not here. You'll handle everything from vaccines and puppy checks to stabilizing minor emergencies. One day it's a routine dental cleaning, the next you're assisting in surgery on a swallowed sock. You'll learn every day and use the full range of your skills, becoming the best tech you can be.
- No Overnights or On-Call – Ever: We're open 8am-8pm, 7 days/week, but we don't do overnights. Enjoy predictable 4-day work weeks. No more 2 AM phone calls, no swing shifts ending at midnight. Your evenings are yours – go home for dinner, recharge, and actually have a life outside work
- Team & Culture: Work in a clinic where everyone has your back. We maintain a high staff-to-doctor ratio so you're never overwhelmed. Our team is positive, supportive, and actually likes coming to work. Expect collaborative medicine where your input is valued in patient care. We regularly celebrate wins, grab coffee together, and yes, we stock endless snacks in the break room to keep you fueled.
- Purpose & Impact: At Sploot, you're not just performing tasks – you're making a difference. Our mission is to make vet care better for pets and for vet professionals. Every treatment you assist, every client you comfort, contributes to a larger purpose of setting a new standard in veterinary medicine. You'll feel that pride and purpose every day, knowing your work truly matters (and we'll remind you, with plenty of "thank you's" and appreciation along the way).
Day in the Life (Job Duties)
As a Sploot Veterinary Surgery Technician, your day will include:
- Surgery & Anesthesia Support
Prepping patients, placing IVs, inducing anesthesia, monitoring vitals, maintaining sterile technique, assisting in soft tissue and laparoscopic surgeries, and overseeing recovery and pain control.
- Dental Procedures & Radiographs
Cleaning and polishing teeth, taking full-mouth dental X-rays, and supporting overall oral health.
- Technical & Diagnostic Skills
Running lab work, administering medications, performing radiographs, managing wound care, and overseeing post-op monitoring.
- Workflow & Organization
Maintaining accurate medical records (with help from our AI scribe), restocking, organizing instruments, prepping packs, and ensuring equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Client Education & Support
Helping pet parents understand surgical plans, anesthesia safety, post-op instructions, and home care.
- Culture Champion
Embody our values of Accountability, Teamwork, and Solution-Focus. Help mentor assistants and contribute to a positive, supportive clinic environment.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications):
- Credentialed Vet Tech in Colorado: You're a Certified/Registered/Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) with a current Colorado license (or eligibility). This is a must – we value the expertise that comes with your credentials.
- Experience: At least 1 year of clinical vet tech experience. Emergency/urgent care experience is a huge plus, but not required – if you're eager to learn urgent care skills, we'll teach you.
- Team Player Attitude: You thrive in a team setting, communicate well, and are willing to jump in wherever needed. Our clinic motto is "no ego – all care." We want someone who lifts others up and enjoys a collaborative workflow.
- Efficient & Proactive: You have an eye for improving processes and you're organized in a sometimes-hectic environment. You can juggle multiple tasks (with help from the team) and still pay attention to the details that matter (like accurate record-keeping and medication dosing).
- Compassion & Passion: You love what you do and it shows. You handle pets with gentle care, treat clients with respect, and you're driven by the desire to make things better – for the pet in front of you and for the field of vet medicine as a whole. If you're the kind of person who got into this profession to help animals and continually grow, you'll fit right in at Sploot.
(Bonus: If you have experience in emergency/critical care, dentistry, anesthesia, or any advanced skills, let us know We love utilizing our team's special talents.)
Compensation & Benefits:
We believe great work deserves great compensation. Sploot offers:
