Working location: Indianapolis, IN
As the Manufacturing Engineer – Automation and Digital you will execute manufacturing engineering activities to identify capability required in new equipment, define controls requirements for new or upgraded equipment, define information flow between the LAN and manufacturing equipment, develop automation projects, and implement manufacturing systems to improve manufacturing capabilities. You will be responsible to ensure that technology acquired is capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time (SQCD).

What you will be doing:
Here you'll have an opportunity to work on the following:
- Develop Capability – Identify, develop, implement, validate, maintain, and continuously improve capability, capital equipment and manufacturing technology which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time.
- Integrate Capability Acquisition and Product Introduction activities, buying off new capabilities and methods of manufacture for new parts/assemblies, ensuring new capabilities/methods are at the required level of readiness for production application.
- Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and delivered as required. Capture and utilize lessons learned. Identify, document, and share best practice, including by participation in relevant Communities of Practice
- Plan and manage activities including schedule, resources, and costs, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders ensuring issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative, and technical policies and standards including RRMS, Export Control, Intellectual Property, Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm program.
- Work with the Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners to drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice. Operate beneficial relationships with AxRCs, partners, and suppliers to enable delivery of objectives.

Basic Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Engineering with 4+ years of engineering experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of engineering experience, OR
- Master's degree in Engineering, OR
- JD/PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, OR
- In lieu of a degree 6+ years of engineering experience
- To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Requirements:
- Extensive practical knowledge of machine design, machine controls, safety requirements, ergonomic requirements, machine validation, maintenance, failure modes, communications, calibration, machine diagnostics, tooling management, coolant systems, work handling, KPV monitoring, standards, and new technology.
- Expertise with implementation of manufacturing systems and enabling software tools (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, SAP, Technical Publications, SPC, etc.) relevant to the business.
- Project management experience with facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, or quality improvement.
- Experience with identification and implementation of large-scale automation projects to deliver quality, cost, delivery, and ergonomic benefits.
- Experience with functional specifications, development, implementation, installation, and startup of new and rebuilt equipment in accordance with program processes and specifications that ensure appropriate interface with company IT infrastructure and existing hardware and software.
- Experience with control design, component selection, PLC programming, robot programming, SCADA systems, AMRs, and IT architecture.

Pay Range: $90,985 - $136,477
Relocation assistance is available for this position.
