Role Description

The Research Scientist - Modeling of Responsive Nano-Origami Structures is a full-time on-site role located in Dayton, OH. This role involves conducting advanced research and developing models for the analysis and design of nano-origami structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and refining models, running simulations, analyzing results, interpreting experimental outcomes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role also requires preparing technical documentation and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in computational modeling, simulations, and advanced mathematical analysis
  • Proficiency in material science and nano-engineering techniques
  • Skilled in using programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar for simulations
  • Experience with CAD, finite element analysis, and multidisciplinary design optimization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to handle complex research challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports and presentations
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented research environment
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Applied Physics, or a related field (Master's degree with significant experience may be considered)
  • Knowledge of defense or government R&D environments is a plus
