About The Role
The Swiss Machinist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely. This position involves operating Citizen Swiss Machines, monitoring production lines, and ensuring quality control standards are met to produce high-quality products. The operator will be responsible for setting up machines and keeping them running by loading bars, making offsets, changing tools and troubleshooting issues. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with team members to optimize production workflows and adhere to safety protocols. Ultimately, the Swiss machinist makes a significant contribution to the overall success of manufacturing operations by ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating CNC machines or completed CNC machine course(s).
  • Performing inspecting using equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial gages, VMM, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience operating CNC Swiss Machines with Mitsubishi Controls.
  • Setup and program editing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate Citizen Swiss Machines to ensure efficient operation.
  • Perform quality checks on parts using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial gages, VMM, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions and report major issues to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and health regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to reduce scrap, improve production processes and efficiency.
