Skin Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery Center (SCARS Center) is looking to develop and train a sub specialist physician assistant. To ensure your success, we provide the systems of support to learn and achieve proficiency advanced skills and to practice.

This education will occur under the direct supervision of double board certified ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists. The position offers training with Oculoplastic Surgeons and body Plastic Surgeons. Participation in our Skin Cancer Conference as well as a Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Conference deepens learning and knowledge of our clinicians. Training in surgical coding further augments the PA's skill sets. Our physician assistants will become highly skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate clinicians.

The Opportunity

• • 8-12 month paid program

• Medical Dermatology- Learn about the various skin diseases such as acne, wart removal, dermatitis and many more.
• Mohs Surgery- Work hand and hand with leading Mohs surgeons with over 50 years combined experience.

• Skin Cancer Oncologic Management-

• Otolaryngology- Perform visits and surgeries like functional endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, septoplasty and cosmetic rhinoplasty.

• Facial Plastic Surgery- One of our core functions. Whether it be a cosmetic procedure like a face-lift or a complex facial reconstruction post Mohs surgery.

• Ophthalmology- Board certified ophthalmologist with additional sub specialty training in oculofacial plastics and reconstructive surgery, also known as oculoplastic surgery.

• • Laser and aesthetic medicine Treating medical dermatology conditions and performing cosmetic and laser treatments.

• Surgical Assisting in our ASC- One of great things with this organization is that it has a multi specialty, 2 operating room facility right next door. It so happens to carry the highest level of accreditation for an ambulatory surgery center.

Candidate Requirements

• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program
• Eligible for and/or possess current CA Medical Board Physician Assistant licensure
• Applicants will be considered if CA PA license is pending, but must be fully licensed by start of program
• Possess current DEA licensure
• Current certification in:
• ACLS
• BLS
• Previous Medical work experience is highly desirable but not required
