About The Role
Reworld is on a mission to turn data into a strategic, circular economy engine. We are modernizing our data fabric with the Qlik/Talend suite, Snowflake as our primary ODS/warehouse, and a growing ecosystem of cloud native services. We need a senior level integrator who can design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and futureproof data pipelines that power analytics, finance, operations, and sustainability initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Data Operations, this role will be a high-impact part of our larger Data Operations & Analytics team.
What You'll Do
- Design & Architect reliable end-to-end data flows (ETL/ELT, streaming, APIs, and event driven routes) that align with Reworld's enterprise data architecture and governance standards.
- Build & Maintain production grade pipelines in Talend 9 (jobs, routes, APIs, and microservices) leveraging its low code, reusable components and CI/CD best practices.
- Integrate data from a wide variety of sources – relational databases (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), NoSQL stores, IoT streams, SaaS APIs, files, images, video, and unstructured data.
- Contribute to the Snowflake data layer: create and evolve dev-test-prod tables, materialized views, and external stages; enforce best practice modelling, clustering, and ‑cost optimization.
- Partner with Qlik, Snowflake & other current and possible partners (dbt, Qlik Compose, etc.) to expose clean, version-controlled data assets for analytics, self-service, and AI driven use cases.
- Automate testing, monitoring, and incident resolution using automated unit/acceptance tests, data quality frameworks, and observability dashboards (Strategy, CloudWatch).
- Drive continuous improvement: evaluate emerging tools (AI assisted code generation, data catalog automation, context aware metadata services) and propose enhancements that increase developer velocity and data reliability.
- Mentor & enable junior engineers and business analysts, translating business requirements into robust data solutions while championing data driven decision making.
Required Experience & Skills
- 8+ years of professional experience in data integration, data engineering, or software development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Deep expertise with Talend 9 (jobs, routes, APIs, version control, CI/CD)
- Proven Snowflake design & performance tuning (tables, streams, tasks, Snowpipe)
- Advanced SQL (query optimization, stored procedures, window functions)
- Strong Java knowledge (Talend runtime)
- Hands on with Qlik data products
- Ability to design scalable, fault tolerant pipelines (ELT, streaming, event driven)
- Comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall delivery models
- Linux/Unix environment proficiency (shell scripting, package management)
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 10+ years of experience in largescale, multi-cloud environments
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Talend Certification (v9)
- Experience with Snowflake Data Exchange, Secure Data Sharing, and external stages
- Experience with dbt, data modeling (bronze silver gold)
- Experience with Python or other scripting for data pipeline orchestration
- Familiarity with Qlik Automate or other low code workflow tools
- Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or other streaming platforms
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for pipeline deployment
- Experience with AWS Glue and familiarity with other AWS services such as Athena, Redshift, CloudFormation, Lambda and S3
Values & Behaviors
- Problem solver – thrives in ambiguous situations, makes decisive trade‑offs, and iterates quickly.
- Curious learner – stays current on data integration trends (AI assisted code, data fabric concepts) and shares knowledge.
- Business centric communicator – translates technical detail into clear, actionable insight for stakeholders.
