CNC Machinist Job – Multiple Shifts at Nixon Gear Syracuse, NY

Location: Nixon Gear, Syracuse, NY 13209

Pay: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time (1st and 2nd shifts available)

CNC Machinist – Multiple Shifts: Gear Motions – Nixon Gear Division in Syracuse, NY is seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our team. This role offers competitive pay, employee ownership through ESOP, and the opportunity to work with advanced CNC equipment. As part of our ISO 9000 certified operation, you will help us manufacture precision gears to the highest quality standards.

CNC Machinist Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision gears according to specifications.
  • Interpret and utilize engineering drawings for accurate machining.
  • Assist with developing machining processes and problem-solving for turning/milling operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage approved tooling inventory.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams to implement process improvements.
  • Evaluate product processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
CNC Machinist Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience operating CNC equipment.
  • Experience with Mazatrol and Fanuc controllers preferred.
  • Knowledge of close tolerances, ISO, and SPC processes helpful.
  • Ability to work day or night shifts as required.
  • Ability to commute to our Syracuse, NY facility.
