The Building Automation Systems Specialist Engineer provides engineering support for the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building automation systems; contributes to the preparation of technical training and documentation; and delivers tier 2 technical support for internal and external users of the platform.

As a Building Automation Systems Specialist Engineer, you will:

  • Perform remote start-up, commissioning, and optimization of Building Automation Systems (BAS), with a focus on energy management, to ensure proper operation and client satisfaction.
  • Configure, program, and integrate Building Automation Controllers and building systems with the Siemens Site Controls cloud-based platform.
  • Serve as a primary technical resource, providing expertise and support to customers and other Siemens employees.
  • Deliver training sessions on Site Controls BAS solutions and related products to both customers and Siemens employees.
  • Support engineering surveys, system assessments, and participate in pre-construction meetings to define project requirements.
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain accurate technical documentation, including product and feature documentation, commissioning records, survey reports, and related materials.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving control systems, electrical equipment, and mechanical systems, ensuring timely resolution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED required; associate degree in electronics, mechanical, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience installing, troubleshooting, or commissioning building automation controllers or mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with control applications development or maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience servicing building automation or HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret control diagrams as well as mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States and Canada; must possess a valid driver's license with a limited number of violations.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and must not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience configuring and programming Siemens Apogee and Desigo building automation controllers.
  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude through previous experience and/or education.
  • Proficient in PC/software skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use hand tools and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Powers Programming Control Language (PPCL).
  • Experience using Siemens ABT Site software.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals as well as HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in various environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment.

The pay range for this position is $66,220 - $113,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
