Rink / Zamboni Assistant

Job Summary:

The Hockey Rink Assistant is responsible for assisting with various tasks related to maintaining the ice rink and ensuring the facility is clean and organized. This role includes removing excess ice after Zamboni resurfacing, cleaning and maintaining the locker rooms, and providing general support to the rink operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with the removal of excess ice and snow from the rink surface after Zamboni resurfacing.

· Perform general maintenance tasks on the ice rink, such as repairing boards and glass.

· Clean and sanitize locker rooms and other areas of the facility used by players and patrons.

· Restock supplies in bathrooms, such as towels and toiletries.

· Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.

· Assist with setting up and tearing down equipment for events and activities.

· Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all patrons and staff.

· Provide excellent customer service to rink patrons and respond to their inquiries.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a similar role preferred.

· Knowledge of ice rink operations and maintenance.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

· Good physical condition, able to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

· Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

· Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.

· Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience in a customer service role.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Work Environment:

· This position requires physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

· Work will primarily be indoors in a cold environment.

· The Hockey Rink Assistant will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the facility's schedule and events.

Pay: $ $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 25 per week
