CNC Mill Machinist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Mill Machinist is responsible for setting up, machining, and producing complex production parts on a CNC mill to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate, timely, and cost-effective manner.
POSITION KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
Studies blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information, or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as the best method and sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
Independently sets up and operates CNC mills.
Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work.
Capable of performing quality control functions on the CNC mill (offset adjustment).
Aligns/ secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines
Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
Measures, examines, and tests completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Oversees that all work is performed to the highest quality and safety standards in the machining cell.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot issues
Able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Must know how to use precision measuring tools (micrometers and calipers)
- Knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Demonstrated ability to set up a machine and run the job with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of G, D & T.
- Ability to change and adapt work behaviors based on a constantly changing production schedule
- Must be dependable and detailed oriented
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of machining experience with a CNC mill
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
