       Title:  Leave Replacement 7th and 8th Grade Special Education Science Teacher

    Description:

    Job Summary:
    • Implement the curriculum as aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Science.
    • Prepare and implement lessons that provide meaningful learning experiences for students.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse student learners.
    • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
    • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
    • Attend professional development sessions in order to further advance professional practice.
    • Prove a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
    • Implement effective and innovative instructional strategies.
    • Differentiate academic and linguistic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment.
    • Create a stimulating, and aesthetically welcoming, organized, functional, healthy, and safe classroom.
    • Perform non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracy.
    • Continue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences.
    • Maintain a reflective teaching practice.
    Qualifications:
    • New Jersey Certification in K-6 with 5-8 Content Specialization in Science, or New Jersey Certification in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Physical Science.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside of the Science Department.
    • Knowledge of OpenSciEd is highly desired.
