Role Description:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Eng with strong AML and model testing experience to support end-to-end validation activities across Transaction Monitoring, Customer Segmentation, and Risk Scoring models. This role focuses on SAS-based testing, quantitative analysis, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional collaboration with model owners, developers, validators, and compliance teams.

The ideal candidate brings a background in AML analytics, model QA/QC, and hands-on data testing using SAS, SQL, and Python, with the ability to clearly communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain test strategies and plans for AML models (transaction monitoring, customer segmentation, risk scoring), covering data, logic, and output quality.
  • Build and execute SAS- and SQL-based test scripts to validate data sourcing, transformations, joins, and population of model input tables.
  • Perform scenario and threshold testing (e.g., changing parameters, customer segments, and transaction types) to understand model behavior and impact on alerts.
  • Conduct back-testing and stability/drift analysis to compare model results over time and against historical performance or benchmark expectations.
  • Analyze alerts, cases and false positives to assess model effectiveness and identify tuning or recalibration opportunities.
  • Document test cases, expected results, defects, and evidence in a structured way that meets model risk management and AML compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with model developers, data engineers, AML operations and compliance to investigate issues, clarify requirements, and agree on remediation plans.
  • Support audit, regulatory and internal governance reviews by preparing testing packages and explaining methodology, scope, and key findings.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives) and help prioritize testing activities within sprints and release cycles.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • 6+ years' experience in AML model testing, validation, or development within financial services
  • Hands on Jira experience withing QA/QC roles
  • Strong hands-on programming experience in SAS (Base SAS, SAS SQL, Macros)
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Must have experience with AML models (Transaction Monitoring, Customer Segmentation, Risk Scoring)
  • Proven ability to perform quantitative testing, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive documentation.
  • Experience working in Agile project environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present complex technical findings to non-technical audiences

Preferred Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of SQL is a plus
