Position Summary
The Director, Corporate Marketing provides leadership for the marketing function within the enterprise, leveraging the expertise embedded in operating divisions and coordinating corporate investments in tools, processes, functional excellence, and enterprise-wide marketing efforts. The leader works closely with other departments and leaders at the dealership to provide consultative marketing expertise, cross-divisional support, and alignment across marketing service providers, branding and corporate practices. The role will support building and executing the enterprise's lead generation and customer experience functional strategies, as well as digital ecosystems and marketing media. Serves as the overall brand champion for the MacAllister Family of Companies.

The ideal candidate has deep marketing and consultative experiences working in a heavily matrixed organization. The candidate must be a strong communicator and relationship-builder, skilled in facilitating collaboration between dealership departments and with external parties.

This role exists to create profitable growth for the enterprise.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the enterprise's short- and long-term marketing approach across industry portfolios and customer segments, leveraging the expertise embedded in operating divisions. Be a catalyst for market segment strategies that cut across multiple divisions.
  • Own the enterprise's lead generation strategy and drive integration of marketing and sales activities, enhancing coverage activities and producing qualified sales leads. Consult with operating divisions on lead management best practices.
  • Champion the customer experience across all touchpoints and define and lead the dealership brand to build customer trust and loyalty.
  • Support the enterprises marketing functional excellence including but not limited to:

  • Collaboratively identify new market segments and estimated ROI, if we entered that market.

  • Set and manage the corporate marketing department's budget to maximize ROI for marketing investments and produce annual and ad-hoc marketing analytics for key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain success metrics to assess the effectiveness of marketing programs, including campaign and content ROI, and make strategic adjustments when needed.
  • Support the corporate efforts to improve and maintain integrity of CRM systems and enterprise databases, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Manage marketing-based relationships and requirements with OEM partners, vendors, suppliers, advertising, and PR firms to facilitate collaboration and cost effectiveness.
  • Guide staff in gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative market and customer data, whether collected by the enterprise or a third party.
  • Manage eCommerce strategy, digital and traditional marketing channels, orchestrating programs of various types and stages simultaneously and ensuring consistent, relevant messaging.

  • Select, train, and oversee a staff of corporate marketing professionals, including lead generation specialists, marketing analysts, customer experience specialists, digital marketing, graphic design, and others.

  • In support of enterprise-wide or cross-divisional marketing efforts:

  • Identify key target market segments and stakeholders for marketing programs and ensure that all communications are clear, professional, engaging, and relevant to their audiences.

  • Empower the dealership to achieve customer satisfaction and financial targets by crafting innovative marketing programs combining messaging and design strategies, and lead staff to bring these programs to life.
  • Gain insight into how customers interact with the dealership and which media channels they turn to, then use this knowledge to determine when each channel should be employed.

Assist in customer acquisition efforts and deploy business development skills to identify new opportunities for the enterprise in existing and previously undeveloped markets.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution and interpretation of policies and for the successful operation of assigned units. Has authority for hiring and disciplining employees. May be responsible for directing the work of first-line supervisors.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing or related business study is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in managing marketing or sales functions and departments, with 7+ years in a marketing leadership position is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Mastery of lead generation techniques, digital ecosystems, tools, and practices.
  • Strong experience in customer experience improvement, continuous improvement methods, and techniques to improve a customer's "ease of doing business"

  • Proven skills in written and verbal communications, planning, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship building.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, marketing automation platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and tools for data analysis, marketing and design.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills, including marketing database management.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of employees and be a team player who motivates and educates other team members.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities for both individual and staff responsibilities and tasks.
  • Experience leading change in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel across the territory to visit customers and branches is required. Some out-of-region travel may be required (up to 25%).
