Lead Network Technician

*Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Data Center Network Technician Lead*
to oversee and support the daily operations of our data center network infrastructure. This leadership role is responsible for managing a team of technicians, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, assigning tasks, and performing hands-on technical work including fiber and copper cabling, server maintenance, and break/fix activities.

*Key Responsibilities:*

• Lead and coordinate a team of network technicians in daily operations and project execution.
• Assign and track work orders, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain accurate and detailed Time on Task and performance reporting for team activities.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling to support data center connectivity.
• Perform break/fix troubleshooting and repairs on servers, network hardware, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with data center policies, safety standards, and best practices.
• Maintain documentation of network layouts, cabling diagrams, and incident reports.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.

*Required Qualifications:*

• Proven leadership experience in a technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of fiber and copper cabling standards and installation practices.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in documenting tasks, generating reports, and using ticketing systems.

*Preferred Qualifications:*

• Industry certifications such as BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA.
• Experience with structured cabling systems and data center best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.

*Work Environment:*

• On-site role in a high-availability data center environment.
• May require lifting equipment up to 50 lbs and working in confined spaces.
• Occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance windows or emergencies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ $33.00/hr.
