POSITION OVERVIEW

The Commercial Electrical Technician is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced-level electrical tasks with minimal supervision. This role requires a solid working knowledge of electrical systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on installation, maintenance, and repair projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including panels, circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting in accordance with NEC and local codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical work accurately
  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostic testing on electrical equipment using appropriate tools and meters
  • Work independently or under the supervision of a journeyman or foreman to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout protocols
  • Identify material needs, pull wire, bend conduit, and make proper terminations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Electrical Technician I team members or helpers as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, time spent, and materials used

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, service, or maintenance roles.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Skilled in using electrical tools and testing equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, and conduit benders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative on job sites
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred, or willing to obtain once hired
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must pass background check and drug screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $34.70 per hour
