Purpose of Position
The Aircraft Program Manager leads the Fleet Program Management effort for a specifically assigned fleet, and interfaces with the OEMs on in-service performance for the assigned fleets. The Aircraft Program Manager will have an in-depth knowledge and expertise for the assigned fleet and fully understand the work flow process, culture and decision-making authority of the OEM. The Aircraft Program Manager will foster a professional partnership relationship with the assigned OEM. The Aircraft Program Manager creates and drives the appropriate implementation of strategies and other initiatives aimed at improving fleet safety, availability, reliability and managing maintenance costs. The Aircraft Program Manager is responsible for optimizing maintenance performance of all assigned aircraft within fleet.

Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Accountable for ensuring for assigned fleets that the OEM implements NetJets departmental strategies and other initiatives aimed at improving fleet safety, availability, reliability and maintenance cost(s) as defined and measured in the OEM Scorecard and other Metrics Scorecards. For assigned fleets, work with Maintenance Technical Services to determine and then be accountable for the resolution of identified recurring fleet maintenance issues with the respective OEMs, within an agreed upon time frame between the respective OEMs and internal/external technical teams. Create task cards and enter them into Comply 365 and issue M-25s directing maintenance actions on the aircraft. Direct aircraft conformity actions for inspections. Responsible for creating the aircraft Mx Checklists. Project management of all fleet campaigns and major issues regarding assigned fleet (including if the particular issue is an Avionics or Propulsion issue) to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of agreed upon initiatives and actions to be completed at or below established budgets and successfully delivering on 75% of projects within the agreed upon timeframes. Maintains action item lists for assigned fleets with clear accountability and ownership. Works closely with OEM FSR's for current fleet issues or action items that need resolved. Partners with Director of Maintenance and Chief Inspector to ensure appropriate safety/regulatory compliance and in-service performance levels are maintained. May include other safety-sensitive duties as needed.
  • For assigned fleets, drives OEM accountability to meet fleet objectives and commitments for availability, reliability and cost. Maintains regular meetings with the OEM to discuss and document technical action items that are identified. Works with BI&A to build appropriate tools to measure the fleets performance. Maintains fleet performance metrics and communicates performance monthly, relative to the targets set for the OEMs. Maintains and cultivates professional, positive and productive relationships with OEMs while also driving accountability and timely, cost effective execution of identified actions in accordance with NetJets goals and objectives. Implements and ensures effective use of performance measurements that monitor the overall health of assigned fleets and drive related operational improvements. Coordinates and schedules Senior Management meetings with the OEMs at least 2-3 times per year.
  • Coordinates with Director of Maintenance, Chief Inspector, Maintenance Planning, Materials, Chief & Assistant Pilots, Maintenance Technical teams, MCC Supervisors and the other Fleet Managers to provide a single point of contact to identify safety, availability, reliability and cost drivers for each assigned fleet.
  • Interfaces with Procurement, Aircraft Asset Management (AAM), Sales and Finance to ensure that action item status is clearly communicated to appropriate internal organizations. Maintains frequent and early engagement with AAM to ensure proposed solutions are aligned with contractual agreements and provides feedback to AAM on issues discovered on the fleet. Works with Maintenance operations on conformity inspections. Engages Procurement for any needed commercial or service level negotiations. Supports Procurement/AAM in proposal development or negotiations, as needed.
  • Partners with Finance in providing analytics in order to meet cost targets. Controls budget preparation of the respective fleet, providing input and knowledge to manage the fleet financial execution.

  • Minimum 4 years of management/supervision experience
