LOCATION DETAILS: Texas Remote and 50% Travel to the Dominican Republic

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Director, Global Raw Material Procurement provides strategic leadership for procurement, planning, and material availability across multiple global manufacturing and distribution sites. This role sets and executes strategies for sourcing, inventory optimization, and supplier management to support growth, cost effectiveness, and operational resilience. The Director also drives ERP/MRP adoption, process innovation, and cross-functional alignment with Sales, Manufacturing, and Logistics to position the supply chain as a competitive advantage. Additionally, this role will establish the strategic vision to scale the Varsity Brands Planning, Procurement and Raw Materials Warehouse Management functions.

  • Design and lead enterprise-wide planning frameworks that ensure uninterrupted supply while balancing service levels, working capital, and cost objectives.
  • Establish governance to maintain optimal safety stock and mitigate excess/obsolete inventory through advanced forecasting and SKU rationalization.
  • Drive integration of newly acquired businesses by harmonizing tools, processes, and resources into a scalable, cohesive global procurement and planning function.
  • Oversee warehouse operations for receipts, kitting, and transfers, ensuring alignment with production schedules and long-term growth objectives.
  • Anticipate and mitigate supply risks through proactive scenario planning, escalation protocols, and recovery strategies for critical shortages.
  • Build strategic supplier partnerships, negotiate long-term agreements, and align procurement activities with business growth and demand forecasts.
  • Support ERP/MRP and advanced planning system initiatives to enable automation, predictive analytics, and scalable operations.
  • Serve as a strategic partner with Manufacturing, and Global Production Scheduling, to prioritize supply chain allocations during constrained periods.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and fostering accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Ensure procurement and planning activities directly support organizational goals, driving measurable improvements in service, cost, and scalability.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to lead with confidence, influence at senior levels, and drive objective, data-informed decisions in complex environments.
  • Exceptional skill in aligning supply chain strategies with Sales, Operations, and Finance to enable growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Proven expertise in leading transformation initiatives, including technology adoption, process reengineering, and cultural change management.
  • Ability to align sourcing strategies with broader business objectives, balancing cost, risk, sustainability, and supplier-driven innovation.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), PLM applications, and planning tools (Anaplan, BlueCherry, FastReact), with proficiency in BI platforms for predictive analytics.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Cognos, and BI tools, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communicator with executive presence, adept at engaging stakeholders, managing upward communication, and fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
  • Skilled at managing ambiguity, resolving conflicts, and leading teams through dynamic, fast-paced environments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Retail Merchandising, Business Administration (or related field) preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, supply planning, and sourcing, with significant exposure to the textile or garment industry.
  • Demonstrated track record in vendor-managed inventory (VMI), approved vendor list (AVL) management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing that delivers measurable cost savings and supplier innovation.
  • Deep expertise in demand and supply planning, Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP), and inventory classification, including advanced strategies for mitigating excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced planning platforms such as Anaplan, BlueCherry, PolyPM, and FastReact, with proven success in integrating these with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to enable predictive analytics, operational efficiency, and data accuracy.
  • Strong background in end-to-end supply chain optimization, with demonstrated success in integrating logistics, procurement, and planning functions to support global manufacturing and distribution.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute global sourcing strategies, manage complex international supplier relationships, and navigate geopolitical and supply risk environments.
  • Certifications (Preferred): APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, or equivalent certifications in supply chain management or procurement highly desirable.
