Job Title: Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)
This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, dump trucks, and other construction machinery of all makes and models. This role also supports general shop upkeep and repairs tools and equipment to keep the shop running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, and similar machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) such as oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, hoses, and inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
- Repair and maintain shop tools, welding equipment, and other support equipment
- Assist with general shop maintenance, including keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Document repairs and maintenance work as required
- Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times
- Communicate equipment issues clearly with supervisors and team members
Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy equipment or diesel machinery (shop or field)
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, and powertrains
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Welding experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime, and on-call if needed
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience
- Experience working on multiple equipment brands and models
- Technical school or equivalent hands-on experience

The employee is routinely lifting up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
· The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
· Required travel up to 20%.

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week
