About Us:
The Arc of Spokane is a nonprofit social service agency dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families through community-based programs and safe, welcoming facilities. We are seeking are liable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician at our 2 Thrift Stores located on Argonne in the Spokane Valley and on the Newport Highway in North Spokane to help keep our spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained for staff, clients, and visitors.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician ensures cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep of our buildings and grounds. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning, simple repairs, and general facility care.
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of offices, restrooms, common areas, and program spaces
- Dust mop and run auto scrubber
- Sweep, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles
- Restock restroom and cleaning supplies
- Conduct light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, minor painting, tightening fixtures, or reporting larger repair needs
- Maintain exterior walkways, entrances, and grounds as needed (e.g., sweeping, snow removal, debris pickup)
- Monitor facility needs and report safety or maintenance issues promptly
- Follow established safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals appropriately
- Support event setup and breakdown when requested
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass all required background checks
- Must have a valid driver's license and insurance and a clean driving record/ability to be insured for driving agency vehicle
- Must have reliable transportation to drive between work locations
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous custodial or maintenance experience a plus
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended period
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Basic mechanical and repair skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Compensation: $20.00-$22.00* starting range, entire scale to $26.00 per hour, Non-exempt, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 14 Paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick, Personal Leave.
- All pay is based on longevity at The Arc of Spokane; thus, the starting pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.
