Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive care to our inpatient pediatric kidney and liver transplant patients. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our transplant surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients undergoing abdominal organ transplants, including liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough pre-transplant evaluations and assessments of potential transplant candidates.
- Assist in the selection and evaluation of suitable organ transplant recipients.
- Coordinate and manage the care of transplant patients through all phases of their transplant journey, from evaluation to post-operative care and long-term follow-up.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Provide patient education on transplant procedures, medications, and post-operative care.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to transplant services.
Work Schedule: 4 10 hour Days, 7 AM - 5 PM, Rotating weekends, No overnight, no on-call.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner or PA license in the state of Maryland.
- Board certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Prefer 2 years of clinical experience in transplant services or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
