WHAT YOU'LL DO

Core Responsibilities

Product Development & Approval Management

  • Own the full lifecycle of the product approval process for all assigned artist and brand programs.
  • Oversee the direction, implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of product licensing workflows.
  • Onboard new and existing licensees onto the Artestar product approval portal.
  • Lead in-person or virtual kick-off calls to align on creative direction, timelines, standards, and deliverables.
  • Ensure licensees receive complete and accurate guidelines, artwork, usage rules, and creative reference materials.
  • Partner closely with the Business Operations Assistant to manage approval samples, maintain the image archive, coordinate artist feedback, and track submission rounds.
  • Conduct QA checks across all product submissions to confirm accuracy of artwork usage, branding, credits, and construction details.
  • Support departmental growth initiatives, including workflow optimization and improvements to internal software tools.

Design & Creative Development

  • Create sketches, CADs, mock-ups, visual layouts, and other design assets to refine product concepts and ensure alignment with artist guidelines.
  • Adapt and refine artwork files by generating colorways, patterns, icons, layouts, and supporting graphic elements.
  • Maintain accurate records of newly created or modified artwork and coordinate archiving with Business Operations.
  • Serve as a creative liaison among artists, licensees, and internal teams, bringing strong aesthetic judgment and problem-solving skills.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Development and Marketing teams from initial concept through launch.
  • Support the sales team with visuals, mock-ups, line sheets, and presentation materials for pitches and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure all product images and marketing assets accurately reflect approved designs.
  • Participate in brand strategy discussions, exploring category expansion, trend opportunities, and collaboration prospects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Product Development, Industrial Design, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in product development, creative licensing, or design.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are
    required

  • Strong understanding of design/development processes, materials, and construction details.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines and partners concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be a team player with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

The position is full-time, including 4 days a week in our NYC office.
