CNC Machine Operator

Woodport Doors is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator with a strong understanding of programming and machine setup. In this role, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by operating CNC Machines efficiently to produce parts according to engineering specifications and blueprints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Program, set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review drawing specifications to determine proper set up procedure, machining sequence and dimensions.
  • Understands and selects correct tooling.
  • Produces parts within required tolerances and specifications.
  • Measures work pieces for conformance to specification using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator and gauges.
  • Adjust machine speeds and feeds and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machine or program errors to ensure efficient production.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have 1-3 year's experience with CNC Machines minimum.
  • Proficient in CNC machining operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance.
  • Strong Mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to use standard measuring tools effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to gather and analyze data.
  • Good communication skills- both written and verbal.
  • Strong decision making and analytical abilities.
  • Must be able to complete inspections and troubleshoot processes.
  • Work independently and as a team player.
  • Self-directed with strong initiative.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures. Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, specifically in the wood industry is helpful but not necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Strong work ethic and reliable.
  • Willingness to learn and desire to achieve.
  • Fulltime position, Monday through Thursday, 10-hour days. Overtime as needed.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn. These include earplugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.

  • Required to stand for prolonged periods of time - up to 10 hours or more per day.
  • Constantly required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to reach above shoulders.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear, and smell.
  • Constantly lift and or move up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and or move more than 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to humid conditions, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Compensation:

  • $18-$22 / hr.
