Vaco is hiring for an Accounting Specialist opportunity in North Royalton OH

Direct Hire, Onsite

Salary: $55-60,000/yr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable data entry
  • Financial data entry & prepare and post journal entries
  • Reconcile account balances
  • Assist in month-end closing procedures and accruals
  • Assist Controller with creating and editing financial documents
  • Revenue reporting for various departments
  • Draft financial presentations
  • Evaluate financial budgets and track expenses
  • Assist with budget creation, year-end closing process, audits, forecasts, cashflow and other fiscal planning
  • Foreign currency conversion (EUR, CAD) & forward contract tracking
  • Foreign currency (Euro) forward contracts tracking & holding accounting reconciliation
  • Inventory valuation & cycle counts
  • CAT Tax Reporting preparation for filing quarterly
  • Administrative duties: filing, mailing, organizing, etc
  • Data entry and financial reporting for other related ownership entities
  • Analytical support
  • Identify, research and resolve discrepancies (follow up on open issues).
  • Bank Guarantee Tracking

Miscellaneous

  • Regularly monitors shared accounting email inbox to support payable and receivable communication as needed. (Shared Responsibility)
  • Complete special projects to support management needs for analysis and reporting
  • Liaise with other departments, as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management or Accounting Controller, as required
  • Cross training and back-up support to AR & AP, as required
  • Process improvement & written procedures

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • One or more years of related accounting work with AP, AR, & GL
  • Inventory & manufacturing cost accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with Sage software a plus
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and tax regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong math skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to effectively manage priorities to complete work in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  • Proficiency with accounting software & Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook)

  • To be considered for this position, you must have strong computer skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
