Job Posting: Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional

Job Description:

Provide support and instructional help to K-6 students who receive special education services

Qualifications:

● Associate's Degree or higher or 60 semester hours or passing score on ETS Parapro Assessment

or passing score on Basic Skills Test MTTC or passing score on SAT (reading/writing and math sections)

Performance Requirements:

● Ability to work with students with disabilities with need areas in personal care, physical and/or language impairment, and health related needs.

● Exhibits good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work as a member of a team providing coordinated, consistent instruction, and/or following and maintaining a behavior modification plan.

● Ability to maintain open communication channels with teachers and staff and keep them informed of program and student concerns/observations.

● Assist in the development of student plans & procedures; implement a plan and collect data regarding the plan's efficacy.

● Willingness to take directions and follow-through with teacher and team decisions.

● Willingness to function on a team providing education to students with disability-related needs.

● Physical ability to do proper restraints and holds.

● Physical ability to assist with position and student mobility needs.

● Demonstrate regular, reliable, and punctual in-person attendance.

● Demonstrate ethical handling of confidential student and parent information.

Terms of Employment:

Position available for the remainder of the school year. Daily hours will be 7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Base pay of $13.96/hour
