systems analyst sr- Global Technology Connect Point of Sales Support

This position contributes to Starbucks success by delivering and supporting technology solutions in support of technology initiatives. As a sr. systems analyst– Global Technology, you will identify, design, and deploy technology and process solutions establishing key business capabilities enabling the realization of strategic initiatives and operational improvements. This role requires proficiency in requirements analysis, solution design, and process improvement coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively across various IT and business functions. In addition to delivering new technology, building trusted relationships with external vendors, and enhancing/supporting existing systems, an effective systems analyst sr. contributes relevant technical, functional, and process expertise, negotiates and drives alignment, and coaches/mentors less-experienced analysts.
Key Responsibilities
Lead with Empathy and Expertise:
- Guide and mentor a third-level support team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Serve as a trusted escalation point for complex POS issues, ensuring timely and thoughtful resolution.
- Generates new ideas and influences decisions within and outside team.
- Works effectively in a self-directed manner with minimal direction from lead and/or manager.
Collaborate Across Teams
- Facilitate cross-functional conversations that lead to shared understanding and effective solutions.
- Coordinates with business, development, and testing teams and leverages relevant process and technology proficiency to propose optimal
- solution(s) options delivering required business capabilities.
Strengthen Vendor Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors supporting POS hardware, software, and payment systems.
- Ensure vendors are aligned with our values and service expectations and actively participate in issue resolution and system enhancements.
- Coordinates issue resolution with vendors and/or cross-functional teams.
- Provides timely and thorough communication regarding issue status/resolution with end-users and other key stakeholders
Drive Solutions And Innovation
- Proactively identifies and effectively assesses improvement opportunities (productivity/efficiency gains, cost savings, etc.).
- Gathers, analyzes, and documents solution requirements. Facilitates user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment.
- Recommend improvements that enhance system reliability and elevate the store Partner experience.
Share Knowledge Generously
- Document system configurations, support workflows, and known issues to empower others.
- Provide training and guidance to support teams and stakeholders, helping them grow in their roles.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of systems development lifecycle and IT operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in systems analysis or technical support, ideally in a retail or POS environment.
- Proven leadership experience with technical teams and vendor management.
- Strong understanding of POS systems, payment processing, and store infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, relationship-first mindset.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and incident management tools is a plus.

- If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
