Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 6:15 am -4:45 pm

*This position will be required to serve on an on-call rotation and work in inclement weather conditions*.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with operation of a sewer cleaning truck performing preventative and emergency maintenance
  • Assume the operator role when the operator is absent
  • Perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, and stooping
  • Work in inclement weather and challenging field conditions
  • Serve on an on-call rotation for emergency response
  • Assist with completing daily work logs, sanitary sewer overflow reports, and required documentation
  • Follow established safety procedures, operational standards, and City policies
  • The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.

This position requires reliability, physical endurance, attention to detail, and a strong respect for safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • "OR" an equivalency of 3 years of education "and" 3 years of directly related experience in a construction environment
  • Valid Class B Driver's License w/ tanker endorsement
  • Directly related commercial truck experience preferably in sewer cleaning, preventative and emergency maintenance.
  • Experience with heavy lifting in an outdoor construction and maintenance environment

An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):

  • NC AWWA Grade 1 or Higher Collections Certification
  • Experience Operating a Sewer Combo Cleaning Truck
